Perhaps the greatest leap of all…

This is my timeline in photos. I became a mother at 36 ~ 9 months after my husband of 7 years died from leukemia. I was 10 days pregnant when my best friend and love died in my arms. Christopher and I met when I was 23 and were married when I was 28; 5 years later he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In the course of 2 and a half years, my healthy and gregarious husband went from shocking diagnosis, life support and near death from pneumonia, through a peripheral stem cell transplant, remarkable recovery to relapse and death at the age of 40. Months before he died, however, he asked if I would be willing to have his child. After careful consideration, I decided that I could not give my darling husband a finer gift than fatherhood. Little did I know, he was leaving me with the greatest gifts of all…Chanel and Chloe.
